As we continue with the costume design and execution. We will tackle the problem of the bloomers.
The bloomers are very small. And the seam has to fit in the groove. To make it fit properly you have to use a knife or screw driver and open the groove just abit more.. After you sew and finish the bloomers and thread the floss through the top and legs. Slide the crotch of the bloomers into the groove. Remove the screwdriver or what ever you are using to pry it apart just a bit.  Pull the  gathering strings  and secure with a bow. Position the waist so that the legs pouff out. As you can see how the skirt puffs out so it looks like it's wearing a formal petticoat.

Costumers Manifesto
Follow the instructions for the skirt in the workbook. You only want the skirt  to puff out. I fyou make it too long it wont gather tightly around the waist. The thing with finishing the waist is the two type sof stitches. It was found to whipsticth the edge was easier. Then using 6-9 strand floss sew a fine buttonhole stitch along the top.
The threading for the pull strings is a bit tricky. You can't go through every stitch, instead you have to weave in and out of every third stitch to make the  gather fit snug.
One you finish the skirt place it on the doll and pull tight. Secure and work on bodice.
Bodice
The blouse is correctly called a bodice. It covers just the top of the body.  The bodice was often separate from  any other part and in some cases when we see full dresses ladies were actually sewn or  pinned, with strightpions into the two pieces os they look like one piece.
No wonder they often stayed straight and proper.
You didn't want the pins sticking you. For thsi little
doll I chose a bodice called  a Short gown, in some call
it a shortcaracoa, some a  short manteua. It is just a
short gown. Often wore by teh working class it was
easy to make because it was only one piece.
Click the link on the left that says short gown and
it will
take you to a wonderful pattern. This is so similar
to the
one I modifid for this project.
My only addition was at the neck, adding ribbon as a
binding. The material I chose unraveled and I had to
ad something. the organza ribbon folded up and made
it look like a fischu or tuck in.
The Hair
The hair I was going to use is plain roving wool. The type that is being used for felting. You can wrap and work it so that ot becomes a variety of different hairstyles.
I found some wool that was given to me for a project and  the little I had was perfect. To set roving or wool or even weft strips, apply glue all around the head leaving ro framing the face and apply. Press it in and while its still damp arrange the hair style as you like.
Final Notes.
As you can see I tried to duplicate the image of the short gown shown on the doll. I also learned to use buttonhole stitches very tiny and create what looks like crochet work. Small pearls, I mean eal timy perlas act like button details on the jacket, but you cant see it.
This was really a way to see how a design worked up. I love Clohespin dolls and wante don that was fancy. I plan on removing the hair later on and replace it with more appropriate hair style as I do research. But for now it works.
