The Sveriges Riksbank Prize
in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel 2008
|
Press Release
13 October 2008
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award
The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of
Alfred Nobel 2008 to
Paul Krugman
Princeton University, NJ, USA
"for his analysis of trade patterns and location of
economic activity"

Something important should be written here
related with Mr. Paul Krugman of Princeton University, winner of
the Nobel Prize in Economics for 2008.
On Saturday, 11 October 2008, I sent a fax to
Rahma at TV-One containing "Letter
of Four Reasons Why Rahma Should Marry Me". The copy was also sent to
Mr. Wardy, my former supervisor at American Express, unsigned because I
sent him the original digital text, not the printed text that was signed before faxed to Rahma. In the evening, there was a news-ticker on TV about
Kapolri, the Indonesian Chief of Police, General Bambang Hendarso, urging
each Kapolda, the head of Police in each Province, to sign a
working-contract. At that moment, the head of Police of Jakarta was Irjen.
Pol. Adang Firman, whose name containing my name Firman.
Then on 13 October 2008
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences issued a press
release that they had decided to award
The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of
Alfred Nobel 2008 to Paul Krugman of Princeton University.
The name of Mr. Paul Krugman sounds like
having a certain meaning to me.
His first name "Paul" sounds like the first
syllable of the word "police". While his last name "Krugman" is like "go
ahead to Rahma you Firman". Because "K" is like Indonesian word "ke" which
means "to". "R" is from Rahma's name. "U" is like English word "you". "G" is
like informal Indonesian word "gih" which means "go ahead". "MAN" is from my name "Firman".
And he is from Princeton University, whereas
"Princeton" is like "prince to end". It is like related with my painting
about a frog in front of a girl that was based on the story of a frog
kissed by a princess then turned to a prince, but in case of me is to turn
to die in accordance with my consent to move to the eternity, as mentioned
in my letter of "Not
Lowering The Ford". During the
Nobel banquet at Stockholm's City Hall on December 10, 2008, Mr. Paul
Krugman was sitting beside Sweden's Princess Madeleine.
In one of the photos about his obtaining the
Nobel prize, he was in the podium with the word "akad", from "Vetenskapsakademien",
but for me it was like reminding about "akad nikah", a process in
Indonesian
marriage. And as if to strengthen the message, on 7 December 2008 he
used the word "warding off" when making a statement about lessons
learned from the 1930s depression and from more recent economic crises.
The words "warding off" is like related with Mr. Wardy, my former
supervisor at American Express.

Nokia 1208, the kind of
cell phone that I purchased on 7 October 2008. |
Spa
hotel Rantasipi Eden in Nokia, Finland. As of 2008, the
telecommunication company Nokia no longer has any operations in the
town of Nokia. Despite the company having been founded in Nokia, the
headquarters were moved to Espoo, and the main factories are in Salo,
both hundreds of kilometres south of Nokia. Almost every year,
tourists come to Nokia expecting to find a great mobile phone
museum, but the only connection to the company is the Nokia mansion,
which is sometimes used for private parties for the company's
executive staff. The town has repeatedly been asked to commemorate
the company it gave birth to, but it has always declined, on the
grounds that mobile phones were never produced there.Nokia does have
engineering and design facilities 15 kilometers away in nearby

The Nobel Peace Prize for 2008 |
The Nobel Peace Prize for
2008
The Norwegian Nobel Committee
has decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize for 2008 to
Martti
Ahtisaari for his important efforts, on several continents and
over more than three decades, to resolve international
conflicts. These efforts have contributed to a more peaceful
world and to "fraternity between nations" in Alfred Nobel's
spirit.
Throughout all his adult life,
whether as a senior Finnish public servant and President or in
an international capacity, often connected to the United
Nations, Ahtisaari has worked for peace and reconciliation.
For the past twenty years, he has figured prominently in
endeavours to resolve several serious and long-lasting
conflicts. In 1989-90 he played a significant part in the
establishment of Namibia's independence; in 2005 he and his
organization Crisis Management Initiative (CMI) were central
to the solution of the complicated Aceh question in Indonesia.
In 1999 and again in 2005-07, he sought under especially
difficult circumstances to find a solution to the conflict in
Kosovo. In 2008, through the CMI and in cooperation with other
institutions, Ahtisaari has tried to help find a peaceful
conclusion to the problems in Iraq. He has also made
constructive contributions to the resolution of conflicts in
Northern Ireland, in Central Asia, and on the Horn of Africa.
Although the parties themselves
have the main responsibility for avoiding war and conflict,
the Norwegian Nobel Committee has on several occasions awarded
the Nobel Peace Prize to mediators in international politics.
Today Ahtisaari is an outstanding international mediator.
Through his untiring efforts and good results, he has shown
what role mediation of various kinds can play in the
resolution of international conflicts. The Norwegian Nobel
Committee wishes to express the hope that others may be
inspired by his efforts and his achievements.

On 7 October 2008, because of my former cell-phone missing when I fell from the bicycle
on 28 August 2008, I went to Point Square at Lebak Bulus to buy a new one. And there happened to be a shop of the
main distributor of Nokia phones there. I bought one there, the cheapest among
others.
Later on there was the news-ticker on TV about Nobel Peace Prize 2008
for Martti Ahtisaari, former President of Finland.
Finland is also known as the country of Nokia phone.
The name of Mr. Martti Ahtisaari is
like another message for me about the seriousness of my relationship with
Rahma Sarita, like I wrote in "Rahm
Emmanuel In The US Congress".
