The Children's Magic Show Magic for children needs to be fun and must be great entertainment. Children require and demand quality. Clive tailors his shows to the specific needs of his young audiences, he is able to adapt his performances to ensure that the material he uses is just right. The Children's Magic Show generally lasts for 40-45 minutes. The aim is to be fun and exciting and also to stimulate the imaginations of his audiences with a wide variety of effects, which involve children watching, taking part, making, imagining, sharing, and enjoying the moment which everyone, including the grown-ups, can be involved in.
Clive begins by introducing himself. He will spend some moments gaining and building the confidence of the audience. He then performs an effect which will convince everyone in the room that he may well be a real wizard. At various spots during the performance all the children will help to make some 'Magical Energy' which allows the magician to then perform more miracles. Also included in these performances are opportunities for the children to be the magicians. There are group activities where everyone is given the opportunity to make something that they can take away with them, often this might be an origami model. There is the customary balloon modelling interlude and then comes the highlight of the performance. Clive offers to let the audience see a real magic wand, one that can transport people to new, exciting or very special places. He asks if they would like to see the wand. They generally do want to see it . From within a special case Clive lifts out a flute which he re-affirms is a real magic wand. For the following activity the children close their eyes or cover them and then imagine being transported to the most special place they can think of whilst listening to Clive perform some wistful and inspirational melody. At the end of this short sequence the children are given opportunities to describe some of the places they have been to in their imaginations. Their descriptions and enthusiasm to convey their own personal images is always touching and a moment of real meaning. It is the perfect end to a magical adventure. A final short musical interlude closes the performance.
'You are the Pied Piper.....they would follow you anywhere' Mrs B. age 46 'You had them in the palm of your hand, you really are a magician in my book'. Mr T. age32 'Do you have to go?....' Rebecca age 6 'Thanks, I think you were doing real magic' Simon age 8
