That from out of the fathers ashes, strong, young presences will emerge. They bring the world this message, the cycle of life is renewed, their ability to overcome the adversities and afflictions of life that threaten to overwhelm. Somewhere, somehow, often in our darkest hours, we feel that one superlative existence, and will continue on. Out of the ashes, X emerged.

Maybe we should explain to a few confused people what all of this means. The Cliq was a group of 25 friends that came together at the beginning of 1998 and lasted until July 22, 1999. The members of the group were basically misfits and loners who were tired of being crapped on by the system known as "high school". They had but one goal: to have fun no matter what they were labeled, or who they were labeled by. Simply put, the term "Cliq" was at first meant as a joke, since that's exactly what these guys were not. After awhile though, this term took on a whole new meaning, and that's exactly what they became. People were getting hurt, walked on, and isolated. So, on the evening of July 22, 1999, they came to the conclusion that things were never going to be the same as they had been a year before, and The Cliq was disbanded. Although it came to an untimely end, those who were there and experienced the events of this time will never forget it. This website is now devoted to that time, the people and the events that made The Cliq into the greatest group of friends in the history of Toledo.
