Take USMLE Step II CK & CS

USMLE Step II Clinical Knowledge & Clinical Skills Exams:

What it tests: Clinical Science Knowledge & Clinical Skills
When to take it: Jul - Oct (between third and fourth years)
Cost: Step II CK: $675, Step II CS: $1,200; Budget between $2,000 -$2,500 for exam, travel, and accomodations
Locations: Philadelphia - starting June 2004
Atlanta - starting July 2004
Los Angeles - starting August 2004
Chicago - starting September 2004
Houston - starting September 2004

Additional Info: This is a new format for this test. Step II CS will replace CSA and TOEFL tests. Check the ECFMG website for updated information. Scores are valid for 7 years

4th Year Clinical Rotations:

Medicine Sub-Internship 4 weeks
Pediatrics Sub-Internship 4 weeks
Primary Care 4 weeks
Electives 22 weeks

Total 4th Year: 34 weeks

 

September ERAS Post Office Opens; Begin applying to Residency Programs through ERAS

 

November Dean's Letters are released to programs

 

November - January Attend residency program interviews

 

December Deadline for NRMP Match registration.

 

January - February

Applicants and programs make Rank Order Lists

 

February

Applicants and programs submit Rank Order Lists

 

March

NRMP Match results announced. Hospitals send residency appointments to applicants.

 

May / June

Graduation

It is ideal for all students to graduate by May. June graduation may be too late to legally start residency orientations and training in some places. Unless an emergency arises, plan to graduate in May.

 

June Graduation ceremony at Lincoln Center in NYC.
