Bat n Rouge

|
History Bat n Rouge has been a pivotal fundraiser for the Columbus Lesbian and Gay Softball Association for 17 years. Approximately 50 people attended the first Bat n Rouge in 1986, growing to a paid attendance last year of 2,507. Update WOW! Early attendance estimates are in, and it is projected that over 4,400 people came to Bat 'n Rouge 2003!! THANK YOU!! We will release final tabulations on income and attendance once all proceeds have been counted and distributed to the charities. We can not say thank you enough to each person who came out and supported the Columbus Softball Association as well as the benefiting local charities. Events like Bat 'n Rouge are fundamental to communities such as the Columbus GLBT population. Unfortunately, it is impossible to thank every single individual who made Bat 'n Rouge a success. But, let me begin with: Susan Drumm and Slammers/Club 202 softball Adam Beckett and Union Station softball (yummy food!!), Todd Cornell and Downtown Connection softball (booze!!), Jim Brey, Alan Green, Lynn Greer, Sable Coate, Brian Laird (sweaty day, eh!?).. .... corporations.. Thank you media: OUTLOOK NEWS (wow!!), NBC4, WBNS 10TV, Sunny95, and the Bravo Network..... Also, SBC/Ameritech, Pepsi, Miller Lite, Columbus Distributing Co, Elemental - Parson's @ Oak St. (Food & Food safety necessities -- thank you so much!), and Electronic One. Thank you Columbus Police (incredible team @ Bat 'n Rouge!!), Columbus Fire, and of course the Columbus Health Department. Celebrities: Judy Tenuda, Sable Coate (yes, thanks twice... event planning and entertaining -- you're awesome!)... Colleen Marshall, Marshall McPeek, Zac Morgan, Chuck Gurney: We see you on the news, hear you on the radio... But we feel you and love you for your continued support of the GLBT community. Thank you!! Finally, the hours and sweat crew: Curtis Davis, Bat 'n Rouge chair. Craig Colopy, Brian Endicott, Adam Beckett, Darin Stephens, and Skip Burton. We all thank you and sincerely hope you had an incredible time @ Bat 'n Rouge 2003 and we'll see you next year!!! Did I miss a volunteer? I hope not, but I'm sure I did - And you deserve credit.. I apologize and THANK YOU TOO, email me @ [email protected] so I can make a fix!!!! |
