| Challenge One - 100km Cycle over 2 days. Completed in August over 2 days from Borris to Rosslare. Stayed in the youth hostel in Rosslare...... very enjoyable had 12 scouts take part in the adventure that took us approx 6 hrs..we stopped off in my Grand mothers where we had lunch thanks to my Mother and Angela. |
| Challenge Two 10km Canoe Trip on the Barrow. Started in Bagenalstown at 10am on Saturday morning with 8 scouts including leaders. I rented 3 boats, 6 life jackets, 6 helmets and 2 dry barrels. I had 1 leader and a scout on the back at all times on bikes. The other 6 were on the water..... we stopped in Goresbridge for something to eat and to change over personel at 1pm... the trip was going well after shooting 4 weirs already adrenalin was pumping..... we ended the activity around 5pm in Borris after canowing 16km and shooting 9 weirs and a few rapids.... the trp was brillant and the weather was good also which always helps Emer, Mary Ellen, Niall, Eoin, David, John, Sinead and Myslef took part.. |
