Her house was large and her room was pretty like her. He sat on her sofa opposite her who was sitting on her bed, waiting for him to speak. The bad memories that haunted him since that day. Since the day he thought he couldn't , never love another like he loved Erin.
He shut his eyes briefly before beginning the incident. "Actually it's nothing. JUst an old memory invoked by the growing love i have for you," Gabriel confessed quietly. Her doe-eyes widened in surprise, speechless.
Without waiting for her reply, he continued," I used to have a lovely girlfriend who i loved very much. We were childhood buddies and had been together since grade 5. We even assumed that we'd marry each other when we grew up. But God wasn't good to us. She was killed by a drunken driver. And it was my fault too." She raised her eyebrows in puzzlement."If i had gone with her to rollerblade, i'd have kept her from that accident. Or even better if i had persuaded her not go rollerblading. But i didn't and the price i paid was the painful loss of the one girl i loved most in the world. I even thought to kill myself to join her but i didn't succeed." Guilt and pain filled him as tears was flowin down his cheeks.
�Look at me, Gabriel. Her death wasn�t your fault. It was the driver�s fault. You can�t predict what would happen in the future. Don�t blame yourself,� Jade said soothingly, her eyes stared into his. Her mind stretched to his soul and was pulled into a turmoil of hurt and pain. She soothed his feelings with soft words both in his mind and with her real voice, healing his hurt and pain. She searched for the core of his feelings and let it hold his rioting feelings secure. Then she channeled most of the pain and grief away from him.
Gradually Gabriel felt as if a burden was lifted from his shoulders. He smiled gratefully at Jade and thanked her. "Its nothing really. I couldn't leave you feeling so hurt and we are friends, aren't we? If you got any problems, you can always find me." Jade replied as she closed her eyes briefly. She felt shagged as the healing had taken much energy from her.
His respect and admiration for her increased as he left her house. 'She's like a shining angel in my life. So beautiful and bright. Oh God, i think i'm really falling for her. But i couldn't, not when i love Erin also.' He shook his head as the conflicting thoughts ran through his mind.
