| After that magical night, Jade managed to keep her promise to the Fairy Queen and convinced the Minister to consider the negoiation. Life went back to normal as it seemed but underneath the surface, there were a few changes. Gabriel still couldn't get Jade out of his mind. He felt compelled to find her whenever he could in school before the school was out. In 2 months time, they'd all go seperate ways and he hated it when that time arrived. It wasn't as if he didn't have his share of admirers but something about the delicate Jade intrigued him. To Jade, everything was as per norm. Though she was still peeved by Judy's ignorance of her advice, they were still best friends, much to her relief. Of course, she hadn't known that Gabriel was tripping over his feet in love with her. Their friendship had bloosomed and she had come to enjoy his company as much as Judy's. In her blissfully state of being in love, Judy took no notice to every other guys except Ted and spent quite a large deal of time with him. Excited with her first love, she couldn't help but try to please him as much as she could to keep him. Back in their school: Jade was walking towards the bus stop after her basketball practice when a blue Honda cruised beside her. A familiar deep voice came from the driver's window," Hi Jade! Want a ride home?" It was Gabriel. Without a hesitation, Jade climbed in his car and gave him a rewarding smile that warmed his heart. As usual, Jade looked as pretty and fragile as always. Her cheeks were flushed from the exertion during the practice, making her seemed more vibrant. Her long reddish blonde hair was tied up in a simple ponytail, revealing the high cheekbones she had.All these observations passed through his mind within minutes. He had never paid as much as attention to any girl as he was doing now whenever he was with Jade. since that incident. So why is this time different? Gabriel mused as he carefully drove towards Jade's house. Apparently Jade didn't notice his weird observations and was busy sorting out the music collection he had in his car. "Whoa! This album of Jestin Cole is really hard to get. Where did you get it from anyway? I couldn't find it anywhere." Jade exclaimed as she flipped the album over. "Oh, that was given by my uncle. You like him too? You can borrow that if you want." Gabriel replied happily to find something in common with Jade. However something was gnawing inside him as if his conscience was reminding him of something...something that happened long ago. A pained expression crossed his face as he tried to push away the painful memories. Jade saw hisgrief and was concerned, "Are you alright?" He shook his head lightly and said tightly," We are at your house now." He stopped the car and waited for Jade to leave. Instead Jade just sat beside him, glancing at him with concern. Clenching his hands to keep tight hold of his emotions, he spoke harshly," Don't you need to go?" |
