Oct 1/2006: Just a short note to say, thanks for visiting me. I now update mainly at Xanga, so please visit me there (link on the righthand menu). Phil November 4 - New music that I wrote over the summer is now available on the Composing page (link on the righthand menu). No new updates on my side, except that there are starting to be too many balls in the air. Too many commitments to juggle. The question is, "Can I handle them all?" Where's that "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" book... Phil ____________________________ August 25 - This site is still alive, and so is the owner. Welcome back. There are more updates to come, including pics of my stay in Victoria as well as more music I have written to sum up feelings and thoughts. The following might be a cheesy line, but I saw it in a laundromat on a poster. The poster was titled "Tips By Which to LIve Your Life", and when you find yourself miles away from the people whom you care about, it's a time to realize (once again) what, and who, matter in these short lifetimes we live. The line was: "There is a vitamin for friends... B1" More and more now I am realizing my friends make for fine allies in this life. P.S. Happy Bday Kristian - who will probably not read this, but ah well. Take care - Phil ____________________________ April 29 - Hello all! In between sneezes, spring is one gorgeous time of year. Just let the spring breeze carry you. Take in beauty. I make no apologies for being sappy. One of the things some of you may know about me is I'm damn sentimental. That's why I'll never throw away anything someone has given me. If I give it up, I'll no longer have that memory and I'd rather be able to continue to enjoy and recall a memory, positive or negative, than to erase it from personal possession. But I'm not what ze French call, "un charactere de tros choses" (a character of too many possessions) or what the Americans call somewhat less elegantly, a "packrat" which is really such an odd, clunky term, but the meaning is crucial -- who'd want to be to stuck with junk? You? I mean this in either in the emotional or physical sense. But you choose what you keep, and one thing I don't consider junk is the previous incarnation of this webpage, something I just stumbled upon tonight. So if you want to see what this page looked like four years ago -- and you are rather bored -- there is a link to your right called "Reminiscing." Click it. Second, about the image on my opening page (before you entered here) - I posted this because so many of my friends, and myself are looking at our career directions right now, and saying to ourselves, "What the hell am I going to do in 2 years? 5? 10? Let me just say, the response I have now and the response I had then is the same -- we are the ultimate deciders of our lives. And we must pursue our passions. Cheers to all that realize that and whom leave nothing up to fate. Fate is an excuse. Do not live according to an excuse. Phil March 11 - Hello .... I Hope you're loving that sunshine out there. I just posted some new clips to my music page. Please have a listen HERE March 3 - Hi all. What's up? It's paper time and thus hectic season personally. Writing tunes, for me, is pretty much the only source of relief and peace right now from all that's been happening. (Whether those tunes are any good or not, is another question). To the person that left the nice message in my guestbook, I'd prefer if you came up to me and talked to me rather than leave such harsh words here. Hopefully then we could talk about it and perhaps work it out. If not, at least you have the comfort of saying it to my face (infinitely more satisfying right?). |
