| A War Cry was often used by a Clan in battle in order to give courage to their kinsmen, and to discourage their opponents. War cry's often have some historical significance, however one of the most famous, that of Clan Douglas, is simply "A Douglas, A Douglas". There seems to be some record of a War Cry for Clan Oliphant (which we will add to the site once a proper source is found,) however it seems that it is likely to be a Victorian invention, as it has yet to be found in any Oliphant family literature or records. |
