early morning wakeup

i am still waking up before 4 in the a m.

this morning i thought i would take a little walk, sneak some exercise into the schedule, watch the sunrise, pound the pavement in an attempt to rid myself of the irritation that always arises when i wake too early. on with the nikes and the sweats, out the door, around the corner, walked past the bus shelter and glanced in.

this is what i saw on the bench:

• one unopened condom
• one empty condom wrapper
• one half empty, oozing packette of aqualube
• one empty wrapper for a twelvepack of jumbo frankfurters

i turned around and came home; no one needs that first thing in the morning.
