Hi. I am Clarisse Osteria, a third year journalism student from UP Diliman. This is our class requirement for Journalism 117 class under Professor Danilo Arao. Feel free to look at my views on the men and women on the news. Thanks!

CRSRS referendum a success for student leaders

The success of the Codified Rules for Student Regent Selection (CRSRS) referendum last January 26-31 was dependent on the yes and no votes of UP students.

And this time, they delivered.

According to the final tally released by the Philippine Collegian, about 26,818 or 55 percent of the 47,365 total UP students voted. Among those who voted, 19,608 or 73 percent voted yes, while 6,747 or 26 percent voted no.(See final results of CRSRS referendum at the Philippine Collegians Multiply site)

ISKO IN THE NEWS: Jovan Cerda

Try googling "Jovan Cerda" and you would find articles, forums and blog posts discussing his leave of absence as the Tinig ng Plaridels (University of the Philippines College of Mass Communications student paper) editor-in-chief to pursue his candidacy as the colleges representative to the University Student Council.

But one look at his Facebook account would tell you that like any other UP student, he likes watching TV shows, going to the mall with friends, and food tripping. He watches the Simpsons and American Idol, and likes to believe hes interesting.
