April 20th, 2005
-Sam Roberts has posted another message on www.samrobertsband.com, according to the message the band is coming closer to finishing work on the album. They are also going to be testing some of the songs out during the Australian tour dates. The message also states that there will be Summer dates back in Canada.

April 17th, 2005
-According to http://www.optusnet.com.au, Sam Roberts has been recording his new album in an old church, which was rented out to them. Also as of April 5th, he was supposedly had about a week until they were done recording. The Australian tours dates apparently will be used as a testing ground for the songs so the band can decided what needs to be fixed up for the songs on the new record too.

April 1st, 2005
-Sam Roberts has left a message on www.samrobertsband.com about the new record...  Apparently this album is being recorded live off the floor.
-Also in record news, In March I reported that Matt Mays was working on the next album as well. www.chartattack.com recently reported that Matt Mays is now back from working on Sam Roberts' next album (which is being recorded in Australia).

Hello again from Australia. We are moving into the final couple of weeks of work on our forthcoming album. Being far away from home, in a strange place with an incredible wealth of deadly creatures and great coffee has given the songs a new perspective. This has been a great experience for us and I hope it translates to you all through the music. We have also managed to get a few gigs booked around town, as well as down in Melbourne and Sydney. All this in the hopes of road-testing some new material and keeping our chops up for our summer dates back home. Hello out there from down here. The band is in Australia at the moment working on the follow-up album to We Were Born in A Flame. The separation from home and three years on the road have helped put us in the right frame of mind to fully submerge ourselves in the writing of the next chapter. We set up our own studio and we've been tracking the whole band live-off-the-floor. It's an attempt to recapture the spirit of the Rock n' Roll record - raw and full of mistakes (I mean personality). We're sending some pix along for your viewing displeasure. So long for now, see you in a couple of months.
