- Military Service:
- On November 1, 1861, Cyrenus "Cyrus" ADAMS enlisted as a Private in
Company A, 24th Kentucky Infantry under the command of Captain
Scoville at Camp Jackson in London, Laurel County, Kentucky. He was mustered into service
on December 31, 1861 at Camp Temple in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky. In
February 1862 he was reported on the Muster Rolls as being sick at Bardstown, Kentucky
where he died on March 5, 1862 of Typhoid Fever.
On September 27, 1866, Malinda Elizabeth ADAMS applied for a pension for the
death of her husband, Cyrenus "Cyrus" ADAMS, who died during his service in the Civil War.
