The Regatta Lawns off Royal Park is an ideal spectator point for yachting regattas.. The lawns have recently been upgraded area to include a riversedge boardwalk linking to the Old Seaport and beyond to Hoblers Bridge. The City's Local Symbols of Reconciliation with the area's original owners are also featured along the boardwalk. |

| The more informal areas of Kings Park and the Regatta Lawns are well used by Launceston People and visitors to the city. Kings Park was viewed as undeveloped parkland to be sold off at all costs until the people rallied to resist privatisation of this park. Kings Park has now been made an integral walkway link between Cataract Gorge and the North Esk River |
