Government Recent News History and Legend Citizens Thakria Thakria is home to perhaps the most extreme people; evil, cunning, self-reliant, belligerent, determined, proud, powerful - these are the prime traits of many a Thakrian. Thakria's history is one of aggressive conflict, military success, and strong leadership. Modern Thakria was brought into being, ironically, by a road carved up through the darkened forests by the god of life. Its reforged avenues were raised by the god of time, in honour of the past kings and emperors. The first mortal to step back into reborn Thakria was Trekker the Sorcerer and he founded the Sorcerers Guild to guard the city of the crescent moon forever against its foes. Thakria has boasted a succession of great patrons over the years, a powerful and largely successful war record. Thakria stands proudly on the banks of the Moonstone Lake, in the far northwest of the continent, under the royal command of Emperor Periam. It thrives gleefully on both scrupulous trade and less-than-honest plunder from all around. It boasts fabulous architectural edifices and its lakeside promenade, whose high-class establishments offer expensive goods to those that can afford them. Thakria however can only be approached by the dangerous route past the Goblin City and the Darkened Forests. Nonetheless it remains a magnet for those that seek to dominate, and those that lust after the knowledge which brings power. To be Thakrian means one must be committed to the pursuit of excellence - fools and weaklings are not looked upon benevolently in this city. Enemies fear the relentless press for domination and power that drives the city; Thakria is marked by its characteristic drive to excell and surpass its foes. News and Current Events Thakria has shown a drastic rise in power in recent years, recovering from a near stagnant city to become a powerful force in the land. Old faces and new citizens can be found in the Center Square, eagerly discussing current military endeavors, fighting tactics, or simply assisting others in replenishing their magic spells and potions. 25th Eleuthral 1152 Kodiak was given the right to throw a divine piece of coral into the pool of the Gods at the Rock Pinnacle. 26th of Ilmarael 1172 Narissa, Defender of Miracles crowned Princess of Thakria. Ilmarael 1172 Springdalian and Mercinean invasion successfully repelled. Thakrians stand strong and remain intact, despite overwhelming forces. Hindyear 1176 Thakrian takeover of Thaumacie Midwinter 1181 Thakrian reclamation of Ladakh, slaughter of Springdalian troops. 3rd of Cloudburst 1181 Zenichiro defeated Zwartia in election for Guildmastery of the Loremasters Guild. 26th of Cloudburst 1182 Narissa, Princess of Vengeance gains the title High Priestess of Vengeance 28th of Skyelong 1182 Circe, The Witch-Queen was given the right to throw a divine diamond into the Pool of the Gods at the Rock Pinnacle. 27th of Leaflost 1183 Zenichiro, Master of Lore was given the right to throw a divine piece of cornelian into the pool of the Gods at the Rock Pinnacle. 3rd of Leaflost 1184 Zenichiro, Master of Lore given the right to throw a divine topaz gem into the pool of the Gods at the Rock Pinnacle. Fall, 1185 Thakrian conquest of Northern Villages 5th of Hindyear 1186 Count Trakea, Loreknight of Vengeance appointed to the rank of Guildmaster of the Cavaliers Guild. 23rd of Hindyear, 1192 Trakea, Sword of Vengeance appointed as High Priest of Vengeance. 30th of Paglost, 1199 Narissa was given the right to throw a divine emerald into the pool of the Gods at the Rock Pinnacle. 7th of Mournsend 1203 Kodiak was given the right to throw a divine amethyst into the pool of the Gods at the Rock Pinnacle. 8th of Mournsend, 1203 Kodiak become Loki, God of Fire. 28th of Cloudburst 1208 Sir Lancelot, Fireblade elected onto the council of Thakria. 9th of Mournsend 1209 Ninja Narl was elected as Baron of Thakria. 2nd of Agamnion 1209 Cadmus defeated Fractell in election for Guildmastery of the Sorcerers Guild. 7th of Mournsend 1210 Seered Devi, Eye of the West was elected as Baron of Thakria.
