Road Trip: Written in Stone?

Livvies room had reappeared in the manor. It was now right next to Pauls room, but Livvie noticed something weird about Pauls room. She walked down the hall to where she was told Briannas room would be but it was curiously empty. Going back to Pauls room she noticed it was somehow magically twice as big as before and had Briannas stuff in it, perfectly arranged. The only difference was there was a small wall partition that divided the room into two halves. Livvie scratched her head and then went into the kitchen where Paul was teaching Catfish how to make a Dagwood style sandwich. It looked good, Livvie was hungrier thatn she thought and she had never seen a Dagwood sandwich outside of the funny papers.

"Okay Catfish." Paul said. "I'm gonna teach you everything I know about how to make a good sandwich. Filling, it will stick to your ribs long after you have eaten it." Paul said.
"I got gum stuck in my hair once." Catfish said pointing to his somehow shorter hair do. "Is it like that?"
"Yeah but in a good way." Paul nodded. "First you get the big loaf of bread. These grinder rolls we got from the store will be perfect. You cut it in half."
"Can I do it?" Catfish asked.
Paul shook his head. "You have to be careful with a knife. It would hurt a lot if you cut yourself, plus you gotta cut it just so down the middle." Paul said doing so.
"Neat." Catfish sighed. "What now Uncle Paul?"
"Uncle Paul?" Paul asked with a smile. "What brought that on?"
"Well since Auntie Brianna brought you in, I thought you would like to be my uncle. Its so cool." He said with a big smile.
Paul looked over at Brianna who was making a newer grocery. "Would be nice." He sighed. Livvie went over to Brianna and poked her.
"Hi." Livvie said.
"Hi, do you think we oughta get any ovaltine? Catfish asks for it a lot." Brianna mused.
"You would be much better off giving him a glass full of chalk." Livvie said. "I had some of that once, well an early version of it. Terrible stuff. I don't think we need any more sugar in him than he already has." She lowered her voice. "I need to show you something."
"What?" Brianna asked. Livvie tugged at her sleeve insistantly. "What about the guys?"
"I think Paul can handle Catfish." Livvie said. "Do you know that your room is empty and that Pauls room is now his room as well as yours?" Livvie asked.
Brianna walked inside of the room. Half of it resembled Bilbo Baggins house from the Shire, and the other half was her room, but it was slightly smaller. Everything was exactly as it was in her actual room.
"Whats going on?" Brianna asked.
"I think we got a magic house here. From what you told me of the rooms disappearing and reappearing, that it knows when we are not in this dimension and the room vanishes until we return." Livvie said.
"Thats what happened with Catfishs room, as well as your own." Brianna said. "But it does not explain what my room is doing combined with Pauls room."
"Its mystical I think. I think its trying to tell us what may come." Livvie said.
"That what, I may be with Paul rather than with....Davy?" She gasped.
Livvie nodded. "I think its trying to tell you something." She said. Brianna moved to say something. "But not that hes seeing other people but maybe you too were not meant to be more than friends."
"What do you mean?" Brianna asked.
"When you guys went to what you called the icky future you found out what would happen. According to your telling of the story, Davy asked you many times to marry him and you always said no. Not to mention the fact that icky future isnt going to happen now, because we rewrote the future with what we do now." She said. "I think I understand that."
"Me too." Brianna said. "The future isnt written in stone."
"Come to think of it," Livvie said. "Have you even been remotely romantically involved with each other at all?"
"Just the first year or so I was here." Brianna said sitting on her bed. "We never had an official date or anything. I think we evolved into being friends." She said. "I don't know what to think. What is our true destiny?" She asked Livvie.
"All I know is that we will deal with it when it comes. Maybe its just temporary." Livvie smiled at her friend. "Perhaps we have made a big deal over nothing. We will know soon enough."
"Yeah." Brianna sighed. "But in the meantime you gave me a lot to think about."
"I guess we all have a lot to think about. Are we going home after the others get back. What of the clones? Are they going to stay here, or dare I say what if we dont want to go back?" Livvie asked. "What about the guys? After all Karen is married to Mike and Chea has been dreaming of being Mrs Micky Dolenz as long as she can remember."
"I remember that." Brianna smiled. "Heavy thoughts, what do you say we have a little light lunch and think it over?" She asked Livvie.
Paul was at the door. "Lunch is ready." He smiled. "In a second." Brianna said still sitting on the bed. Livvie nodded and went down the hallway. Paul came in and sat on the bed.
"How do you like the room?" Paul asked.
Brianna looked up. "You did this?"
"Yeah." He said. "I like you, I wanted to be closer to you." He pointed at the partition. "And you can close this whenever you want to." He said. "I know you value your privacy for reading your books."
"How do you know that?" Brianna said as Paul sat on the bed with her.
"I know everything about you. I am tuned in to your every thought and every dream. I know you like disaster movies, and you have a soft spot for puppies." He smiled wickedly. "I know you are also ticklish!" He said starting to tickle her. Brianna howled out laughing. She laughed so hard she fell off the bed. Paul tickled her onto the ground.
"Cut that out!" She said between the laughs.
Paul stopped tickling her and helped her up.
"I know everything about you." He repeated from earlier. "I think I love you."
"How can you? You've only been around for a few hours." Brianna said still catching her breath.
"Do I really need any more time?" He leaned in to her.
"Oh my god hes going to kiss me?" Briannas thoughts gasped. "Oh my god!" She thought as he got closer.
A voice called out from the doorway. "Kissy kissy!" Brianna and Paul turned and looked toward the door. It was Catfish and Livvie. Catfish had mustard smeared on his face.
He made a "naughty naughty" motion with his hand. "Shame shame, we know your name!"
Paul blushed a vibrant shade of red and darted from the room.
He moved so fast he almost knocked Brianna back onto her bed.
"What was that?" Livvie asked as she wiped Catfishs' face off.
"I have no idea." Brianna said. "And whats worse, I'm not entirely sure I didnt want it."
