Having found the last of the current clones, Chea and Karen now decided to set apart some time fo the long expected shopping part of the trip to the mall of america. After the first few stores, however, everything started to look the same until Chea discovered the mall had a outlet of her favorite store -Ununkees.
"U- what?" Jack asked as he paused outside the store.
"Ununkees. Rhymes with Monkees." Chea said smiling. "There is this one outlet back home and I loved it." Chea informed him.
"But she only went there once with a tax bonus cause its so expensive there." Karen said remembering. "She only bought one thing too. I think we shared it on and off for a year before it managed to self-destruct at work one day."
"Boy that was embaressing." Chea said now recalling what Karen was talking about. "Lets go. I can get someting new for all of us." Chea and the other girls moved toward the entrance but Jack hung back with a weirded out look on his face.
"Are you coming in or what?" Karen asked.
"Uh....not." Jack said. "If you don't mind I'll just see if this place has a bar I can drop into." He said backing up an inch.
"Glory, what floor was that pet store on?" Karen asked Glory who was oohing and aaahing over a strapless evening gown.
"Which one, theres like a dozen." Glory said tearing her eyes away from the store mannequin.
"Whatever one had a muzzle and a leash." Karen answered pointedly. Jacks eyeballed her in shock. "And don't even think I won't do it either."
"I can't be in a girl store." Jack said uneasily. "I draw too much attention."
"Ahhh noooo, not you." Chea laughed. "What can we do with him?"
"Not much. He's like an untrained puppy." Karen mused.
"There is something we can do with him." Glory said.
"No." Glory said.
"I can proably deal with it then. Whats your suggestion?" Karen asked.
Glory stepped forward and whipped something out of her bag. Whatever she had was gone in a flash and Jack was out cold on the floor.
"What was that?" Chea said blinking.
"A little knockout taser. He will be out for ten minutes. Won't even know what hit him." Glory said putting it away. "Guys are like so rude here and I had to get something to protect myself." She explained. "I didn't like it but I had to. I was here by myself for a a day or two, and it was so not fun."
"What do we do with him?" Chea said poking his leg with her own right foot.
"Theres a bench right over there." Karen said. "We'll just say he was sleeping if anyone asks." She said as they moved to him. They each picked a part of him to lift and hefted him to the bench and plopped him on it.
"Done!" Glory said rubbing her hands together. "Lets go!"
She then vanished into the store. Chea and Karen looked at each other then they then regarded Jack.
"Okay so hes slightly pervy, did he really deserve that?" Chea asked.
"I don't think so. There could have been another way to handle him. I think there is more to this Glory than the half wit cheerleader persona she seems to emanate."
"Right." Chea nodded. "Lets just go shopping and try to forget about this." Karen agreed with her and they followed her into Ununkees.
Home
Livvie and Brianna were still in what was now Brianna and Pauls room after the almost kiss that almost happened.
"Do you think you wanted him to kiss you?" Livvie asked.
"If it were any other guy, it would have been different. Even when we were sorta dating, I got very uh nervous when Davy tried to kiss me and I think he sensed that. Thats probably why it never went beyond that." Brianna said. "I'm a little confused right now."
"Whats going on with everyone is a more than a little confusing." Livvie sighed. "I kinda wish we were back home at our pad, it was so much simpler then."
"What, when we would drop into random tv shows and movies and occasional encounters with Jan and Stan or whatever his name was?" Brianna said. "Thats normal?"
"What is normal?" Livvie shrugged. "Normal went bye-bye a long time ago around here." She allowed herself a little laugh. "Maybe normal is what you allow yourself to accept."
Brianna nodded. "Is it possible to fall in love with a clone?"
"Thats quite a question to ask." Livvie said. "After all there are many clone couples here."
"Thats true." Brianna said. "Maybe I oughta talk to a few of them, see what it was like when they fell in love."
"I would love to hear the answers." Livvie said.
"Have you ever thought of dating?" Brianna asked as they left her side of the room.
"Me? No. I am very old fashioned. I come from the days where someone would woo you for a very long time before even trying to date you. Sadie hawkins dances and the like." Livvie sighed. "I love Peter but as a friend, like you and Davy. I don't think its an age differance either, cause where you really come from, I would be long gone." Livvie said. "Strange to think about." Brianna nodded as they got to the kitched where Catfish was trying to get Paul into a food fight. There was an uneplained bowl of outmeal on Pauls head.
"Ok not as strange as this." Livvie conceded.
"Would you be open to dating?" Brianna asked as she got some paper towels.
"Maybe, but I doubt anyone would be interested in me." Livvie said. "The young relic."
The Mall
The Ununkees store was smaller than most, it was previously a donut place or something. The girls stayed in the front of the store so they could keep an eye on a certain someone.
"Hes still there." Chea said holding up an 80's style shirt. "I want to try this on."
"Chea honey, this shirt wasn't cool even in the eighties." Glory whined.
"How do you know?" Chea asked hugging it to her. "I love it."
"I have several issues of Cosmo in the eighties in my brain." Glory said. "Will you trust me?"
"I don't know. Will you taser me too?" Chea asked. Karen looked over at Chea. She had had the question in mind too.
"No no, only if you get unruly or jerk like." Glory said.
"Then we're fine." Chea said. She put the shirt back and found a combination baby blue skirt and shirt emsemble. She dashed off to try it on. A few minutes later she came back with it on.
"What do you think?" Chea said turning around in it.
"Great!" Glory said. "Now you just need a big poodle hair do and a hair metal band, and you're in!"
Chea rolled her eyes. "I love the eighties. Thats what this store is, pure eighties. Like the clock stopped or something."
"Whatever." Glory said holding her her two hands, with her forefinger pointing up and her thumbs touching.
"Speaking of clocks stopped, how long have we been in here?" Karen asked.
"Half an hour." Chea said checking the display on the time gadget. She looked up at Karen, but for a slight second she could see past her and into the hallway.
"We have a problem." Chea said.
"Apollo 13!" Glory burst out.
Chea ignored Glorys movie referance and went to the door."We have a bigger problem. Jacks not on his bench."
"Are you looking at the right one, cause they are so alike." Glory said scratching her head. Karen couldnt help but wonder if she was hurting her brain doing that, but she didnt say anything.
"No." Karen said. "He was on that one. Hes gone."
