Contest Winners The contest ended on December 11th. In the same time the Romanian Community in Portland promised their support to assess the exhibits and they need some time to get organized. We need this independent assessment to make a better selection of the final works of art that will be sent for the Portland Rose Festival. In order to get un unbiased opinion from Portland we will not publish the winners until December 27th. Distant contest jury We are very thankful to the people in Portland that are willing to donate their time to get a better evaluation of the works of art displayed in our exhibition. This help us to make a more objective selection of the exhibits that will be sent to the Portland Rose Festival 2008. In a supplementary filtering we reduced the number of exhibits that we present on Internet. To be a judge in our competition you have to visit the following pages and select a number of 10-20 exhibits (or more if you like):
Every exhibit has a title and a code. You have to email us the list of codes of the paintings and pictures that you like, in the order of relative value (the first is considered the best). The codes are inserted into one line, separated by a comma. An example of the list could be:APP73, CSF55, GMF98, etc. The first code in the list corresponds to the exhibit that you considered the best, the second to the second place, etc. It would be useful if you could send us two lists, one for paintings, and one for pictures. Please also indicate in your email your name, occupation and city of residence. The results are sent to [email protected] Note: the code of an exhibit is formed in the following manner: 2 characters - the code of the school, 1 character - the type of exhibit (P-painting, F-Photography) and a serial number. Ex. CRF03 is an exhibit of Carmen Silva High School, a photography and has the number 3. Thank you very much for your help! Description of the Exhibition The Art Exhibition at the Timisoara City Hall reunited works of art from 4 High Schools, one Grade School and one Kindergarted. After a thorough selection at the level of each school, in the end there were only 249 exhibits presented. This was a collective effort and I was very much impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication that teachers and students showed during the preliminary phases of the exhibition. The Exhibition started on the National Day of Romania and it will be open until December 10th. The best 6 works of art (selected in 4 exhibition organized until June 2008) will be sent to Portland to an exhibition of the Portland Rose Festival You can have a look at our exhibition by clicking on the following links:
