Fokker Triplane of Werner Voss
The Fokker Triplane of Werner Voss, finished in the Fokker streaky camouflage paint scheme. Until now there has been a great debate as to the colours and appearance of this aircraft. The colour reconstruction was the result of work with the German early aviation group, Fokker Team Schorndorf (FTS), aviation historians and builders of replica aircraft.

The FTS had researched the colours used by the factory and knew how the paint was applied, but not how it would appear on original WWI images. Working closely with the FTS involved using colour and fabric samples and numerous trials before it was felt that we could proceed with the actual colour enhancement.

One area of special interest to aviation enthusiasts is the debate on the colour of the Cowl (engine cover) on the Voss machine, many accounts mention it as Yellow. The results of the work between Century Imaging and the FTS produced a reddish brown cowling, after a lot of work it was felt that no evidence of yellow could be supported by the original images. Though the debate continues, Century Imaging feel confident through experience that the colours shown above represent as close as possible that of the machine flown by Lt.Werner Voss.
Special thanks to Achim and FTS
