Tyler Engel - Drums
Cory Renard - Guitar
When someone asks about the biography of something, it really takes me back. It really reminds me of my grandpa, actually. "Well, sonny, in my day, we didn't have none of them fancy guitar setups! We made music by bangin' our heads against trashcan lids!"
Well, for Circle Box, it came a little easier.

One day, back in '99, there was this guy named Steve. Then there was another guy named Cory. The two became friends when they realized they had similar tastes in music. These two guys liked rock. They really liked any kind of rock at all. Anything that could rock their proverbial balls, they liked it. Rock ruled, and everything else sucked (Especially hip-hop, R&B, pop, and country). All seemed like it would work out to be a good friendship.

Kicking it up a notch, these two were both musicians. Cory had always had an interest in
guitar, which he inherited from his mother. Steve liked to play bass guitar, and he was decently talented with it already. The two played together a couple of times(with instruments, no gay butt sex), and decided that they really needed a drummer to make their jamming experience complete.
Enter Tyler

Tyler rode the same bus to school as Steve and Cory. Let it be known from this day forward that as soon as Tyler spoke those Three words "
I play drums," Circle Box was formed.

Although it wasn't called Circle Box quite yet. The original name was Kapri Sunn(after a long running joke with Steve and later aquired vocalist Joe, involving rewards of Capri Sun for sexual achievements). The three were stoked, and set off to play. They started by using Tyler's room, because it was hard to move his drum set. This was all well and good for the band, but something must always get in the way, right? Tyler's mom didn't take too kindly to the all-nighter they pulled after she finished a hard day's work. She decided that they had to either move or stop playing. They agreed she needed a break, but stop playing? That was out of the question. So, the plan was as follows: Tyler's dad was a carpenter. They would have him build a practice shed for the band to play in. Tyler asked his dad, and he agreed to help. They built the shed, and it was a small marvel.
The name change would come next. It would be
Gravel Road from there on, or so they thought. Now, enter Joe.

Joe Kollman had been a friend with all three members of the band for a long time. He had even sang with them on occasion, and being the only real accomplished vocalist in the area, the three decided they wanted to have Joe on as lead vocals. Joe liked to sporadically write. Most of his songs came to him within minutes, exaples being his rendition of "
Ice, Ice Baby", "Purple Monkey Sunday", "Beating Off Time", and "Boner". The real saga begins.

Since they had bought new amps and speakers Tyler's shed would no longer hold them all. So Cory's garage became the next spot to jam. On a night when there was nothing to do, at least Tyler and Cory had
nothing to do, Tyler took his drums over to Cory's and they wrote a handful of songs in one night. Such songs included, Framed, 212, Remanissing, Serena, I Wonder, Since I've Been Gone, Failing and Trouble. Now they already had 4 songs of their own (Seen It Before, I.S.S., Can't Turn Back, and Life's Merry Go Round) so they had a total of 12 songs.Thoughts of a cd filled their heads. They added Brain Fart and Stressed Out  to their lineup. They now had enough to make a cd.(14 songs). This is where the name change takes place.

On a fun filled adventure trip to Eau Claire, the guys brought up the name change. Tyler had came up with the suggestion of Cirlce Box. So that's it right? No they also had another candidate The Norm. But they all agreed that Circle Box was better. Now all smart musicians think smart right? Well, now Circle Box may not be the smartest band but they knew that if they released a demo cd first they would make more money for equiptment and stuff. So they released a demo (which you can buy if you email one of the guys) with 6 songs on it. Framed, Brain Fart, Since I've Been Gone, Stressed Out, Serena, and Life's Merry Go Round. Now they knew that most of their songs were kind of short so if they wanted a real cd they needed more songs. Cory and Tyler sat down and wrote Burning From The Inside Out, Last Summer, Help Me Find My Origin, and Use Your Time. A couple weeks later Steve came up with a cool guitar riff, thus being Blastisamo. Tyler and Cory also wrote Could See Her that same day. They now had 20 songs. But I.S.S. and I Wonder was not they're style so they decided to ditch the two songs. Now the order was 18. After some time of not practicing, because of Steve, Tyler and Cory got bored and wrote more.  Tyler wrote lyrics to a cool guitar part they had previously had (the old lyrics were about Steve and his love of oral sex from anyone) this song is known as On With Our Lives.  Cory wrote a song about everything called Mazourka.  Tyler wrote two others called Middle Class and High School.  Two other songs not on the upcoming cd are Tacos Give Me Gas and Bob LeBatcha. They have reordered their cd and are going to only have 16 songs on the cd --- These being - Could See Her, Blastisamo, Mazourka, On With Our Lives, Serena, Burning From The Inside Out, Help Me Find My Origin, Failing, Middle Class, Circle Jerk, Brain Fart, Since I've Been Gone, Stressed Out, Framed, Last Summer, and Remanissing.

The new line-up of three...
Joe was not Circle Box's type. It was as if he was on one side of the fence and the other three were on the other, and they were not satisfied with the sound on the demo. Thus it was now three. The journey is only beginning.
