Born in 1986 in Elgin, IL, Cory Renard was brought into this world with a passion for music. His mother was a guitarist and his father was just as big a music lover as Cory would grow to be. He would always quiz him on music related topics, even from the young age of 2 years old. His dad would always ask him who sings the song whenever something would come on the radio. Cory got to know some of the greatest rockers of all time early in his life. He'd always admired his mother's guitar, and he would pick it up and try to play it on occasion. By age 10 he'd taught himself how to play a few songs. Relocation is never easy for anyone. When Cory was 10 years old, his family packed up their belongings and moved to Black River Falls, WI, and later, Alma Center, WI. Alma Center is where the whole story begins. After a short time, he'd made himself a few friends, including Steve and Tyler. They all shared an interest in music, so they formed a band, named Kapri Sunn. (Obviously a reference to Joe's origanal bet with Steve.) It was funny to the guys, but no one else really got it. That's when they changed their name to Gravel Road, until they heard another local band was named Gravel Road, so came yet another name change. Tyler was in Nebraska with his dad and he thought of the name Circle Box. He told the guys and they agreed but they also had another choice for their name, The Norm. But in the end they chose Circle Box. | |||||
