Ryldar, Silsila of Alamut
Ryldar Ibn-Kaziim- The Desert Wolf
Ryldar was born in was in now modern Iran, although he was part of the Saracen Empire.  His father was a soldier in the armies of Saladin who help retake Jerusalem back from the western crusaders in 1199.  Following in his fathers footsteps he joined the army at the tender age of twelve, at first helping care for the horses and camels, to training, and becoming a full fledged soldier at the age of seventeen.
Ryldars first battle saw his sergeant get killed by a large group of bandits, leftover westerners who either deserted or were left behind after one of the countless crusades to retake Jerusalem, although very young, he had a keen wit and a cool head, and led the remainder of his small unit to victory against the bandits, even outnumbered three to one.  After this battle he was promoted to corporal in the army and began working with the company NCOs for further leadership training.  For the next five years he lead his small unit of men to victory again and again against overwhelming odds, it was this ability that first attracted the attention of a being who would play a large part in his short life.
His greatest feat was a battle of a group of thirty-five of his own men against a force of one hundred templar knights, which resulted not only in victory for him and a rout for the templars, but in fact only one templar survived to return with the stories of the Desert Wolf, to which is the only name he is known to the western armies.
Finally, at the age of twenty-three, he lead a small group of men against a heavily armed village of westerners, but this village was also the stronghold of a large group of western bandits and former crusaders who were terrorizing the country side and raiding the Arab villages.  After a lightning raid that left many of the bandits either killed or captured, he took control of the village.  However even as cultured as the saracens were, soldiers were still soldiers, and men are still men, and so his men, with the permission of the company captain set themselves out to enjoy the fruits of their labor, and began rounding up the women of the village.
While Ryldar had no problems with enjoying himself with a woman, the thought of forcing himself on one sicken him, and he refused to partake, and when he spied a large brute of a man forcibly remove a woman from her childrens arms and begin to remove her clothing he snapped, when he regained his temper he realized that the man was dead, and the woman was sitting there shaking and the children were screaming.  He quickly grabbed a horse and left the camp before anyone knew what was going on.
After riding for many miles and through most of the night, he finally stopped at an inn for the night, hoping he had gotten far enough away, he settled down to a hot meal, when he went up to his room he found that he had two unexpected visitors, visitors who were curious for his desertion, and curious of his mental abilities.  After testing him, and forcibly pinning him to the wall with a spear through the guts, they gave him a choice, a chance at immortality serving something greater or death.  He chose life, and hasnt looked back yet.
