The Khabar and The Path of Blood
The Khabar is the manner, and rules, the Code of Honor which all Children of Haqim follow.  It is taken very seriously, and any one who breaks the Khabar, is punished severly...i.e. death.  The Khabar is taught to all the Fida'i  the night they are embraced.  This way there is no excuse for ignorance.  Along with each new Fida'i, the Rafiq, Silsila, Du'at, and Old Man renew their pledge to the Khabar, and all are brought closer together.  The Path of Blood speaks to our commitment to the Khabar and our duty to destroy the Get of Khayyin.
Asabiyya (Loyalty): This refers to the loyalty between the clan and the individual.  The clan's interest take prescidence of that of the individual.  Children of Haqim always asks themselves how their actions would best serve the clan.

Ikhwan (Brotherhood): This refers to the loyalty between members.  Children of Haqim are forbidden to fight each other under any circumstances, save one, a formal challenge for leadership.  Children of Haqim also assist each other in all masters except assassinations.  This is a Holy task and must be taken alone.

Muruwa (Honor): This refers to an Assamites personal honor.  Our word is practically unbreakable.  We require truth in all things.  Let the Munafiqun lie to each other if they wish, we will even tell them the truth if asked a question point blank.

Hadd (Vengeance): Vengeance is a vital concept to the Assamites.  Vengeance for the clan and for its fallen members.  The only time Hadd will not be sought is if a member falls in the line of duty, while carrying out a contract, because of his own mistakes.  The target will be bothered no more.

Taqqiya (Secrecy): It is the duty of all Assamites to keep the location of our sacred home of Alamut from being dicovered by outsiders.  This tower also lets us pose as non-Assamites.  During this time, the tower of Muruwa gives way to Taqqiya, and an Assamite may lie, cheat, whatever is necessary to maintain their cover with out compromising their personal honor.

Mumin (Faith): This encompasses one's belief in the Khabar, The Path of Blood, and to the path set down by Haqim.

Umma (Community): Like mortals, vampires are social craetures, and the Children of Haqim are moreso.  Umma demands that we serve the clan humbily, offering all our talents and gifts to the Clan's disposal.  Because of this the Scholars and Magicians are as highly respected as a Warrior.  Each brings to the clan the best that they have to offer and are put to work with those skills.  There have been times when they have been asked to step outside their area of strength and perform new tasks.

Even Haqim was a Warrior before he was a Scholar.

The  Ethics of the Path
* Be Faithful to the code of the Khabar and to the teachings of Haqim

* Seek all knowledge which will assist the Children of Haqim in their struggle with Khayyin's get.  This includes the Book
of  Nod, and any knowledge concerning clan and individuals.  Since the Treaty of Tyre, knowledge which might help
circumvent the Curse has become particularly important.

* Practice restraint and develop inner strength to withstand the Beast.  Resist frenzy at all costs for those mastered by the
Beast are touched by Khayyin's corruption.

* Deal honorably with mortals, and do not despise them merely for being mortal.  To despise mortals without cause is to
become the same as Khayyin's get.  Drink from them only when necessary.

* Lose no opportunity to obtain Kindred blood of any generation.  The power of the Blood shall ensure the clan's victory.

* Recognize that you are not as the get of Khayyin, and that they are your ancestral enemy.  Keep apart from them unless
duty requires otherwise, and guard your spirit from Khayyin's corruption, which they carry.
