Dakshata, Silsila of Alamut
The name Dakshata, meaning one of skill, was bestowed upon the newborn girl because the young mother likes the musical sound of it.  Little did she know it would forecast the destiny of the child.
From her very young years Dakshata knew that being born the second child she would be trained as a warrior, since the first child was the one to marry and increase the fortunes of the family.  She had a keen eye and well formed hands that always seemed to find some sort of knife or dagger to hold.  As she aged her weapon of choice became a sword nearly as long as she was tall, but even before being sent to the isolated training camp at the age of 15, she was a natural with any type weapon.
Along with the skill she developed came, of course, attitude.   Before time to leave for the five-year training school she was able to best any male, young or old in the village, when it came to swords, pole arms or axes.   In most societies she would have been groomed to become a wife and trained in the daily running of a household. Luckily for her traditions differed in her region and her natural skill was both encouraged and tolerated.
On the day she was to leave for training her Father took her aside and told her of his pride, of how in five years she would return to be the defender of the village and to remember to work hard not only on her skills but to also listen to the wise scholars in the ways of the world.  He also mentioned that she was to work on her attitude for along with skill came responsibility, and the ability to judge right from wrong.
The years flew by with hard work and constant training until finally she completed the required time, winning every honor possible in the arena.   She was anxious to return home and see her family and see the fat little babies that by now her older sister would have produced.  Her attitude had changed somewhat; the years spent away had given her more appreciation for her family.
The words of the final ceremony replayed in her head as she made the six hundred mile return trip home.  Protection, duty, loyalty and honor were the code she now lived by.
The woman now stood where the child had been just five years ago.  The tall gangly girl had formed into a graceful, dark, golden skinned beauty with entrancing brown eyes flecked with dots of gold and green depending on her mood.  The constant training had molded her body into a muscular yet curvy tribute to womanhood. The hair once so flame red had deepened to a burnished auburn controlled only by braiding it down her back.
As she rode to within mere miles of her beloved home she could see the tall column of smoke darkening the sky and the smell of. death.  She searched among the bodies and burning buildings until she found her home and family.  They had been horribly tortured.   Only her sister had a small spark of life left in her.  The last words she heard shattered her heart as the tale of the bandits was told to her as she held her dying sister.  Why were you not here to protect us?  Her sister questioned with her last breath.  After the many burials the girl headed west tracking the marauding band of thieves who had desecrated her life.
In her travels she met a man named Rhael who forced her to realize she could not have changed the fate of her village.  He was to set her once again on the path of her destiny by showing her a world she had not even imagined existed.  He introduced her to a new way of life, new powers and strengths and renewed in her deeper feelings of duty, protection, loyalty and honor.  Along with those feelings he brought her to a new family, one she would not fail as she did her human family.  The trials she encountered before taking her place in the new family were stringent and at times more then she thought she could bare but she knew she would never let them down.  Ever.
Today she works with the Caliph training new members to become the defenders of the clan home, Alamut.
