| It has been an interesting several months, with the election, birthdays, holidays, and my first 4 months of being pregnant. I am learning a lot about me, Doug, and interestingly enough, the people around me and in my life. I have learned a lot about my mom, and her stubborn resilient strength, and have discovered that I want to be like her. She has been very supportive and helps me remain grounded when other people tell me all sorts of things that aren't right for me or my life. Doug has also been wonderful as he lets me learn at my own pace what it is for me to be pregnant and how that changes and doesn't change my life. His questions are minimal, simply because he allows me to keep him up to day every day if I feel like it. As in every other area of our lives together, he lets me explore and learn and be me, whatever and whoever that might be at that moment. Many other people have had varied reactions to my pregnancy and some instantly start treating me differently, and in some cases, are very rude. Some are excited, perhaps over excited, and others could care less. Given that all these people are very important in my life and are not just total strangers, I find the wide variety of responses to the news interesting and educational. So far, it has been an easy road- I have not felt sick or had many of the other problems I have heard about. My emotions and hormones feel better balanced than during my regular cycle, and I feel very logical and well balanced. Go to our web page, www.ARandomSaturdayNight.com to see picture of the plan for the nursery and other info. In other news, my mom is studying the 3D part of AutoCAD, my dad is taking some time to do projects around the house and my sister is freshly engaged to a guy named Dave. I am learning about dispersed Sustainable Community Agriculture, and have started a test garden to learn more this year in our back yard. Hopefully, I can make this something where I plan, install, maintain, and harvest other peoples' gardens for them. This hopefully will let me play in the dirt, something I have discovered I love to do, keep me busy, bring in extra cash, keep me local, and allow me to bring baby along for the ride. Go to the "In The Garden" section of my web page to see what is new and how that massive science experiment is going. |

| I just learned that the Mason Street Corridor here in Fort Collins is going to benefit from the federal funding from Obama. I heard that transportation projects that were already well developed and in the works are the ones that are going to recieve money. I guess it pays to plan ahead and be ready when the wave comes in. Ah, results. Now that is what I like to see, and only two months in. Thank you, President Obama. I am really excited about this because it is one step closer to linking the city to the greater region. Showing the community how much they have to gain from mass transit will help grow more projects. I hope eventually, the Corridor will link into the Denver RTD and FasTracks system. |
