CHUNG LING ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
August 1991......
The Computer
Committee was formed to assist the Hon. Secretary and other
committees in printing records.
November 1992......
First aid
room was closed by the school authority due to the project by the
State Government and later due to the poor condition of the
building.
10th January 1993......
For the first
time the Ambulance Division squad won the overall champion in the
State First Aid & Nursing Competition.
1994......
The Ambulance
1 Squad emerged 1st runner-up while Mas. Goh Chin Yee
from A1 and Mas. Goh Chin Kung from AC3 both won the Best individual
prize in the State First Aid & Nursing Competition.
1995......
Both A1 and
AC3 squad was emerged champions in the State First Aid & Nursing
Competition. Mas. Goh Chin Kung from A1 won the Best individual
prize while Mas. Chong Pin Fee from AC3 won the Best Leader prize.
Later, both teams participated in the National First Aid & Nursing
Competition. The AC3 squad won the Long Cases and Mas. Choong Li
Dong from AC3 won the Best individual prize.
1996......
The A1 squad
emerged champion in the State First Aid & Nursing Competition while
Mas. Tan Kean Chye from A1 and Mas. Lim Koon Keat both won the Best
individual prizes. Later, The A1 squad competed in the National
First Aid & Nursing Competition and emerged as short cases champion
.Mas. Tan Kean Chye won the Best individual prize. This year, nine
and sixteen individuals have passed the “Paramedic Course” and
“Ambulance Driver Course” organised by the Penang State
Headquarters. The Disciplinary Council was formed and chaired by the
chairman of the 13th Central Executive Council. This
council was formed to take over the previous Counselling Committee
and Disciplinary Committee.
23rd March 1997......
The Ambulance
1 squad for the second time emerged overall champion in Penang State
‘First Aid and Nursing Competition. Mas. Lim Koon Keat and Mas. Teoh
Ching Soon each won the Best Individual prize for the Ambulance and
Ambulance Cadet section.
26th April 1997......
The
division’s representative squad lead by Mas. Oo Chuan Wei emerged as
the champion of the 12th Penang Inter-school First Aid Quiz.
2nd August 1997......
The divisions
had launched its homepage for the first time. The Penang State
Deputy Commander, Mr. Lim Thoon Deong was invited to launch the
divisions’ homepage officially during Annual General Meeting. We
were the first division to own our St. John Ambulance homepage
website and it’s the second in Malaysia. The chairman of computer
committee, Mas. Lo Chee Yoong was the founder of the website and was
assisted by Mas. Low Chen Tung and Mas. Lim See Yan.
August 1997......
The
divisions’ First Aid Room was closed by the school authority in
1992. It was transferred to the PPG Room. But in 1998, all the
divisions’ asset was moved to the staff room in Form 5 block.
3rd-7th September 1997......
Chung Ling
High School celebrated her 80th Anniversary. An exhibition committee
was formed and headed by Mas. Oo Chuan Wei. Foot drill, team-test
and stretcher drill demonstrations were carried out.
15th-18th December 1997......
4 days Non
Commissioned Officers’ (N.C.O.'S’) training course was held. The
organising committee was led by Mas. Chong Pin Fee and the theme of
the training course was “Discipline, Co-operation and Quality”. 64
elected members take part in this training course
10th & 17th January 1998......
Divisions
opened the registration for the students during the Enrolment Day.
The strength of divisions was about 500.
7th March 1998......
A farewell
dinner was held in honour of our teacher advisor, Miss Ee Choon Lin
who retired in Feb 1998 at Sunway Hotel’s ballroom. There were 200
members and ex-leaders attended this dinner. Everyone felt sad
losing an advisor who had guided the society for 10 long years.
14th March 1998......
The annual
campfire was held successfully in the school’s handball field. A
record of 1,300 participants from schools all over Penang State
attended in this campfire.
22nd March 1997......
The divisions
sent 3 representative squads to compete in the Penang State First
Aid and Home Nursing Competition. The Ambulance Cadet squad was led
by Mas. Yeoh Chong Theng won the competition while another ambulance
cadet squad lead by Mas. Khaw Chee Sin was the 1st
runner-up. Mas. Neoh Choo Hong from Ambulance 1 achieved the Best
Leader prize while Mas. Wong Tjung Wai from Ambulance Cadet 3
achieved the Best Individual award.
14th May 1998......
The Ambulance
Cadet 3 division represented Penang State to the National
Competition in (University Putra Malaysia) UPM, Serdang, Selangor.
The team won the 1st runner-up in First Aid Long Case and
2nd runner-up in both Stretcher drill and First Aid Short Case. The
team led by Mas. Yeoh Chong Theng. Mas. Goh Jin Teik won the 2nd
runner-up position in the “Best Individual” category.
13th June 1998.......
Our Division
achieved the Chung Ling Sports Day March-past Champion. The squad
was led by Mas. Lim Kwoh Min.
20th JUNE 1998......
The
Divisions' Representative Squad was led by Mas. Lim Shyang Maw
emerged as the 2nd Runner-up in the 13th Penang Inter-School Quiz.
14th-17th December 1998......
4 days 2
nights Non-Commissioned Officers' (N.C.O.) Training Course was held.
This Committee was led by Mas. Lee Yu Wei and the theme were
'Quality & Co-operation, Prior in Discipline, Superiority in
Respect, Root in Success'. 80 members were take part in this course
January 1999......
Enrolment day
was held at school compound. Some demonstrations, lectures, and
exhibitions had been carried out to attract new students. The A1
Exco had organized a picnic at Pantai Keracut. The Aim of this
activity was to strengthen the relationship among all Excos and
members
March 1999......
Both A1 & AC3
(B) Squad were commanded by Mas. Lee Yu Wei and Mas. Tan Teik Hooi
emerged as the champion of the Penang First Aid & Home Nursing
Competition and AC3 (A) Squad emerged as the 1st Runner-up. Mas.
Khaw Chee Sin from A1 and Mas. Danny Lee Chin Tat from AC3 (A) won
the Best Individual prize. Mas. Tan Teik Hooi from AC3 (B) achieved
the Best Leader award.
April 1999......
The
champion teams represented Penang state to participate in the
National First Aid & Nursing Competition which was held in PULAPOL,
Kuala Lumpur. The A1 Squad was the 1st Runner-up in the Long Case,
and Mas. Khaw Chee Sin from A1 won the Best Individual Prize 2nd
Runner-up.
June 1999.......
The 15th
Annual Campfire which was chaired by Mas. Leow Wei Shen turned out
to be a success. About 1000 people attended this most spectacular
event of our division. The Best Item and The Best Supporter were won
by Sri Mutiara and Phor Tay High School and Overall Champion was won
by Union High School. The 14th Penang Inter-School First Aid Quiz
was held at school's hall. Penang Chinese Girls’ School became the
champion while Penang Free School and Chung Ling High School turned
out to be the 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up. Mas. Leong
Kar Yung from our division and Mas. Loay Boon Siang from Penang Free
School won the Best-Written test. In the Annual State Inspection, A1
& AC3 Divisions won the Consolation & 1st Runner-Up Prizes for Most
Collective Schools in the 1998 Flag Day Donation.
December 1999......
The
Non-Commissioned Officers Training Course was held in our school in
order to train the future leaders of our divisions. These 4 days 2
nights training involved 56 participants. Together with the theme
'Discipline & Quality’, all members were trained in various field
and team co-operation.
