My name is Judd Sanders and I am a freshman at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. At this school I am on an academic Scholarship. I am 19 years old and live at home. I graduated from Lumberton Senior High School. But out of the 4 years that I was there, I spent the last semester of my 9th grade year 96-97 in Swaziland, a small country in the southern tip of Africa. I lived there for about 6 months with my family as missionaries. The year of 99-00 I lived in Maracaibo,Venezuela for 1 year as an exchange student with the program AFS (American Field Service), to learn of the culture and the language. I speak 2 languages fluently, English and Spanish. I also speak some Zulu, the language of Swaziland. I am now beginning to learn French. I plan on going on another exchange program to France in my Junior year of College. I am very interested in learning about other countries and learning other languages because I like being able to communicate with others. I am not sure what I want my major to be, but I think I would like to study International Business or International Relations because of the link between other countries and being able to use my languages. I hope to continue learning about other cultures to develop a better understanding of these countries and as a world as a whole. |
