5 Places to Read Ebooks Right Now!

Check out a few web sites where you can read high quality books online. Most are free and some are have limited free titles to view.


  1. Go Follett

    Enjoy our school's colection of ebooks. To read them online, log in to your student account and choose the collections option at the top of the screen. Choose ebooks from the list to gain access to our entire collection of electronic books, inculding many engaging non-fiction titles. This site is also where you go to view our library catalog.

  2. Epic Books

    Epic books is a fantastic collection of over 10,000 titles that is set up to resemble the Netflix inteface. Students can access ebooks, read alongs, and audiobooks online or through the Epic Books app for tablet devices. Students can access this collection free for the first month, and after that, for a small fee of $4.95, a month. Teachers can create a free educator account in the classroom.   3. Oxford Owl

    Oxford owl is a Brittish site that focuses on reading skills for young children. Parents and teachers can create free accounts to access hundreds of phonics readers available in ebook and audio formats. The audio versions have lovely Brittish accents to make it even more fun.

  4. Riverside County Library System

    The local public library system offers free access to ebooks and audiobooks online for library card holders. The Overdrive site has a large collection for children and adults. Parents should supervise children who are attempting to find an appropriate book on this site. If you don't have a library card, they are free to Riverside county residents. You can apply at our local Sun City Library.

  5. Loyal Books

    Formerly "Books Should Be Free," this site offers a free collection of classic public domain books, like Alice in Wonderland and The Treasury of Beatrix Potter. They are available in many formats for eReaders, and audio devices. Please be aware that the children's genre contains some books that are more appropriate for young adults.
