| So, I tried to start writing first thing in the morning, and my computer took a dump and now I have to get ready for work!!! I will try to finish this soon!! I promise!! Back to work on the old journal. Ahhhh, feels good. So, my weekend began a little early. Went to pick up Nathan from his Little League game on Thursday. Watched for a little bit, then began having horrible pain in my lower back. The old kidney thing all over again. I sat and hoped, stood and hoped, walked around and hoped, but it would get no better. Long story short, after the game, the ex-wife made me go to the hospital where I spent the next four hours getting IV fluids, and a CT Scan. The first IV was done by an EMT just learning how. SOOOO he dug in and missed by a little, then moved it around looking and looking. Finally, got it in the vein, then was hooking it up, and the needle falls out of my arm! Arghhhh!!! The nurse did the second one, and it was in and done in a second. An intramuscular pain shot, and some blood work. Four hours of talking with Nathan. Too much fun really. Got out at 12, and had to decide what to do. Go to Mom's and recover there? Go to Julie's and sleep, then go home? Go to Karla's? Well, Karla seemed most interested in having me, so we went up there. Friday, I took Vicodin all day, and it went generally well. We went to the park with the kids and they all got along for a change. Well, not really a change, but for a continuous period. It was nice. Took a downturn around the time their Dad came to pick them up, but not too bad. Just needs more work, of course. That night, we started watching Rounders. Nathan was enthralled, but Karla fell asleep. Up too late the night before. To bed we went. Saturday started out pretty good, but I stopped with the Vicodin, and the pain came back, at least until that night when the kidney stone finally came out. It was HUGE!!! Owwww! I was really snippy with Karla, and was lucky to not get my head bit off for it. Whew! Need to learn to destressify (new word), when I feel like that, and not get all testy. It never works out. Sunday was pretty good, though Nathan beat us at Badminton. I think. K and I together worked on a new high score at Bookworm, 1,700,000 and counting. Whoo-hooo!! C |
