Day three was a cooler day with the temperature only around 23C so we decided that the Barron Canyon canoe trip would be the best thing to do. It was a two hour canoe trip with just a few short portages to be done and some maneuvering of the canoes around sunken logs (dead heads) and rocks, but for the most part it was a fairly easy canoe route. Viewing the 100 metre cliffs from the base on the river was absolutly breathtaking. We even had time to stop for a quick swim and rise-off at a section of the river that was at least 100ft deep. That night Cole and I tried our luck at night fishing for Lake Trout at the bottom of Grand Lake. (some 100ft deep) We didn't catch much, but with zero waves on the lake at night, the lake was a sheet of glass. Loons called out off and on all night long all around the lake, we called back to them and they would appear next to the canoe after having swam half the lake to inspect where the return call came from.
