2004 DAY TWO
On the second day we packed up our gear and headed back to the main campground, Achray, in search of the Veehof family who were on their way out to join us. We spent the day at the beach to relax and kill some time and we eventually found them at their site. We made some plans for the next few days had dinner and then we headed out to find another on the other side of Grand Lake for the remainder of the trip. This site proved to be a nice site, but we later found out it was in the wrong location. The site faced out to the water looking East. This error had brought sun shine off our site at 7pm and cooled the site of very quickly. It also heated up the tent VERY early in the morning too. (I for one like to sleep in when I'm on vacation, but if you prefer waking up early in the day, this East facing location would work well.) Also being on the NorthWestern shore-line, any light breeze at night didn't come off the lake to blow mosquitoes into the woods and off the campsite. (Note that the mosquitoes were not that bad to begain with so this was only a minor set back.) We did, however, stay at this site for the simple fact that we did not want to take down camp again.
