The Busload Adventure
June 2004

Today we had our 32 week OB check.  There are still three strong heartbeats.  Chrissy is measuring at 45 weeks for what someone with a singleton would be. The doctor we saw today said the average delivery of triplets comes at 33 weeks.  He felt if we could make it to 34 would be great and had us schedule our C-section for Monday, June 21 at 10 AM.  He also told us that in his opinion the odds that we will be attending our scheduled OB check next Thursday are 50/50, which means we could be parents in less that a week. (scary).  If they are born in the next week or so, we can anticipate the babies being in the hospital between 3 to 6 weeks.  They will have to be able to maintain body temp, breath on their own, and be showing good weight gain to be able to go home.  Chrissy's main issues at this point are her sore body, numb hands and extremely itchy belly.

Today was another biophysical and all the boys passed 10/10.  Baby C was a little on the borderline of  8/10 or 10/10 because he didn't react more than once during the non-stress test part where they measure the heart rate compared movement (their heartbeats should increase when they move and then come back down to a resting level).  They all were a little slow on the other parts of the physical but they all passed eventually.  I think they were just a little tired.

We have our next doc appointment Thursday.  It will just be a regular OB check to make sure everyone's hearts are still beating strong and to talk about any questions we may have.  There are two things that may send me into labor or why I would deliver before my scheduled c-section on the 21st.  The first one is when they check my cervix on Thursday it might cause a disturbance and start something.  The other thing the doctor may be concerned about according to the nurses I have spoken to is my severe itching not only on my belly anymore but on my arms, hands, feet and a little on my legs.  I have developed bumps all over because of this itching.  We will see what the doctor things when we see him on Thursday.  I still think I won't deliver until my scheduled c-section on June 21st.

Well the only thing the doc had to say was "11 more days."  URGHHHH!!!! I am soooo ready.  The doc did give me something for my itching but it is just a pill that lessens the itching and knocks me out (I assume it does the same to the boys, poor things).  Well I highly doubt that anything will happen from now until my scheduled c-section date of June 21st but we will keep you posted.

Today was our last biophysical from the home health nurse.  All three scored 10 out of 10.

On Monday I talked to the clinic regarding my severe itching and the doctor said it is up to me when I come in to deliver due to the itching.  I still would like to make it to monday, but It is not looking promising since I can't sleep.
