A Day in the Life of

I begin my day by eatting breakfast before Matt heads off to work. I start monitoring for contractions shortly after I eat and chug as much water as I can.  I start monitoring around 8:30 and monitor for an hour.  Then I send in the "strip" to the nurses to look it over and they call me back to let me know how many contractions I had since I don't feel most of them.  If I am over 5 contractions during that hour I need to give myself an additional dose (bolus) of medication which is through the terbutaline pump that is attached to my leg.  Then I remonitor again to make sure the contractions have lessesned.  I also have to monitor in the late afternoon/evening.
After all is fine with my morning monitoring I usually jump online to chat or send e-mails to keep in touch with the outside world or I play games on Pogo.
When I am not in bed I can usually be found in here during one of my many "breaks."
If I am not online or watching tv I try to take a nap if I can.  It depnds on how much sleep I got the night before.
My reliable company everyday!  Puddy.  Matt says he is practicing ignoring everything for when the boys come home!
Once a week when the Home Health nurse comes out she does a biophyical on the boys to make sure all is good. See Page 2 of Adventures for biophyical description.
The Terbutaline Pump:
This little pump is attached to my leg by a catheter and the pump I just carry with me like a little purse.  Every fifth day I have to change the site of the catheter so I need to poke my leg with a new needle and catheter. Every third day I also have to change the syringe in my pump so I don't run out of medication  Terbutaline has helped lesson the contractions.
