Crow

Crow
By Stephanie

We stumble on into the night
Struggling with all our might
Through the waters dark and deep
Up the mountains, rough and steep

Eyes cast downward, void of hope
Behold the dark through which we grope
Wandering on and without aim
Each and every day the same

The crow, he darts along beside
As we take on the wind and tide
Following his mocking caws,
We only find ourselves more lost

The waters splash upon our feet
The oceans song so soft and sweet
Its melody just barely heard
Among the harsh calls of the bird

Blindly we keep trudging on,
Yearning for the beauteous song
Yet the crow leads us away
Away from light, from hope, from day

Distant horizon in the night
Glitters with a shine so slight
Hardly reaching our empty eyes
All we sense are hollow cries

A loud, sweet note, a burst of light
It comes upon the world, so bright
With hope and truth, with love and care
The melody is in the air

It all has fled the dark, the grief
Replaced with light, with trees in leaf
The water glitters in the sun
That light that shines in everyone

And amidst the reverie
A crow attempts to flit and flee
A bird of dark, who caws no more
Tries to fly beyond the shore

But even he can not escape
From the bright suns warming rays
The black begins to melt away
A dove now flies on through the day

So this tale ends, with day and dove
A tale of His triumphant love
So find those still lost in the dark
And set in them the awesome spark
