I treaded through the rain
Again
It pounded at my back.
As always, your outstretched hand
Was there,
It held a coat of comfort
But then I turned my eyes
Away,
Walked on, in sodden state.
I gave in to the wind
Again
It blew me to places unknown
As always, your guiding eyes
Were there,
They made the path so clear.
But then I turned myself
Around,
And walked the other way.
I gazed into the fire
Again
Reached out my hand, was burned.
As always, your healing words
Were there,
They sought to ease the pain
But then I closed my ears
So tight
And all the pain remained
I stumbled on the edge
Again
I slipped, began to fall
As always, your precious love
Was there,
To catch me, hold me dear.
But then I hit the ground
So hard
And everything was dark.
I woke within your hand
And then
You lifted me back up
This was the time to begin
Again
To live a life renewed
As always, by my side
My Lord,
As always, my true savior.
