Hi. My name is Christine Felipe.
First off I would like to say thank-you for visiting my cite and congratulations on finding it!
I'm a student at Hartnell College and an athlete. I don't really like to define myself as a poet
for I know I still have a lot to learn in the field of poetry. I am currently located in Salinas CA
and hope to transfer to San Jose State University in the Fall of 2005, where I shall continue
my education and get a Doctrate in writting. One of my goals is to get both of my books published
as well as more of my poetry that is currently being published in the U.S. as well as in the U.K.
I was born into a family of four (five with me) in the summer of "85".
My family consists of my mother, two sisters and two brothers all of which are older than me.
The reason that I started writting poetry is due to the fact that I have a passion for writting
and telling stories. Seeing how it has taken me such a long time to complete my book entitled
Loves Unpaived Paths, I have decided to start writting poetry once again. I am
currently writting a second book which is numerically entitled 2.2.8.3.1 and I hope to
complete it in the fall of 2005. I started some of my early poetry during the winter
of "98." It hasn't evolved much since then but that's the way I like it. To me, poetry is more
than just story telling or art its more or less a symphony. See in music if you
don't hit every note right when you're supposed to the whole peice is ruined.
Therefore, when poetry is read properly it should make a person fell what the writter is feeling
and think what the poet is thinking. I believe that some of my best work is done when I'm
inspired by an event that has happened to me in my life or by a special person
who has entered my life. See, the key point in poetry is not to impress people with what
it is you've accomplished, but to allow the reader to relate to the poet. As for my
acknowledgements in poetry I can't say they have been bad. I have received many good
acknowlegments; however non are as valuable as the critiques that I receive from you the
reader...so please feel free to send me an e-mail
with your critique. You might want to go into "Poets corner" and read some of the
critiques I have received, and while your there feel free to check for upcoming events. I hope you enjoy my work.
