FORGOTTEN LEGENDS - Episode III - The Ogre Caves of Rensin

Deniras eye lit up. That would be most beneficial to our small farming community, although I am afraid that we have very little to offer in return for such a deed of valor. Only our sincere thanks and appreciation.

Killian expected nothing less, as his (and the other members) course towards freedom for Duviks Pass was well received. Rensin would appreciate that same benefit. The group gathered their supplies, and quickly headed west. With Teemto having headed west five days previous, and the caves as close as a mile or so, the group was sure that if Teemto had been captured, he would have been in the hands of the ogres for way too long.

They found the caves easily enough, and Shenya also noticed that there were footprints leading both too and from the cave entrance. What concerned her most was the fact that the footprints leading in were all too fresh. They also appeared to be that of a half-elf, whereas the majority of the other prints that were distinguishable were that of ogres. They also saw other footprints that did not bear any resemblance to anything they had ever seen before. We should proceed with caution.

Into the cave they went, and they soon realized that the cave, although wide at the initial opening, tapered down into a smaller opening, barely large enough for even Duh to fit through. Shenya approached cautiously, and attempted to peer inside. She saw a group of goblins led by a hobgoblin, and knew that if too much attention were drawn to her, they might set off an alarm for the rest of the cave occupants. She proceeded quietly, and slipped through the opening into the next room.

The room was well lit, but despite this, the goblins did not at first recognize that anyone was in the room. Your mother wears a beard, and your father stinks of elderberries! Shenya cried, hoping to draw their attention. After the insulting taunt, she ran back through the opening, where the Killian, Duh, and Arris all waited patiently to trap the goblins in the room.

The delayed action caused by Shenyas sudden outburst turned out to be their downfall, as it gave Shenya enough time to stop just past the opening, spin, and cast a quick grease spell on the ground before the opening. One of the goblins was running so fast that he lost his footing as soon as he hit the slippery floor, slamming head first right into the wall. His brains slowly leaked out of his helmet. The other goblins became easy prey, as they too lost their footing and were soon slipping and sliding in uncontrollable directions. Killian and Duh easily dispatched their adversaries, including the hobgoblin, and congratulated themselves on not allowing the alarm to be raised.
