FORGOTTEN LEGENDS - Episode III - The Ogre Caves of Rensin

Rather than follow the wolf, the group decided to stay at the camp. Within moments, they heard the yelp of a dying wolf, the last sounds that the beast would make. Shenya decided to track after where the wolf had fled, and in doing so, forgot about her own warning trap (whereby she set it off to the delight of both Killian and Duh). When she came upon the dead wolf, she noticed that the wolf had died a vicious death. Large puncture wound had killed the wolf, impaling him just below the throat. Not seeing anyone in the vicinity, she returned to camp and suggested that the group continue their watch patterns. To the benefit of all, the rest of the evening was uneventful.

Within a few days, the group found themselves in the first major village since leaving Duviks Pass. As they approached the small farming community, most of the residents gave them little notice, as they continued about their business. They soon came upon what appeared to be the center village building, and proceeded inside. Asking for the mayor or other political figure in charge, they soon met Denira.

Killian explained that the group was looking for a strange looking man, probably with disheveled hair, possibly dirty clothes, and on horseback. Denira explained that the town of Rensin would receive a regular supply of visitors, but with the ships not coming through from Duviks Pass, the influx of transients had diminished over the last month or so. However, she did recall the man that Killian had described as Teemto.

Oh, yes, I recall him coming through here about five days ago. He arrived on a horse, and horribly terrified. I wasnt sure what to make of him, as he seemed rather out of place. He was looking for a temple or other place of worship dedicated to St. Cuthbert, but all I could do is direct him to one of either Ehlonna or a small outpost of Heironeous. Instead, he left the horse at the stable, and headed west.

What is west from here? inquired Killian.

Caves. Caves filled with ogres and other nasty such beasts. We here try not to go there, although occasionally we are raided for our livestock or food stores. Even less frequently they take residents, although that has not happened in a while. I am afraid that if you friend went that way, he may be in danger.

Would you consider it beneficial if we were to dispose of the ogres in that cave? Killians sense of justice on behalf of anonymous, yet worthy, citizens was beginning to flourish. He also looked for an opportunity to fight, and wanted to do something about finding Teemto, also.
