FORGOTTEN LEGENDS - Episode I - The Plague
In Duviks Pass, Mayor Sanders explained the current situation. The village was of a size worthy of housing 1,500 to 1,700 residents. The only problem was, there were only about 500 to be found. The Mayor explained that many of the residents had become deathly ill in the last few weeks, and that various groups of miners who had entered the mines had never returned. In essence, he asked the band of adventurers to look into the matter.

Oh, and one other favor, he quickly added. There is a very odd man (if you could call him that) that hangs around in the center of town. He is a large, brutish sort of fellow that no one has the guts to ask to leave. He stays to himself somewhat, but he is also very philosophical at times essentially preaching about various theories and logic problems to no one in particular. More importantly, said the Mayor, he scares the children.
Would you mind bringing him with you, into the mines. At least so that we can get him out of town before people start to blame him for all the problems we have been having?

Duh, as he was called by the locals who could not bring themselves to call a him by his given name of Doug, was actually a half-orc. Only that he was a little different that your typical half-orc, as he used his brains to converse with the locals (or himself) moreso that his brawn. Although, at times, if need be, he could be very vicious, and very out of control.

Well met, offered Killian, extending his hand. Duh took it, and was summarily introduced into the fold. They quickly got some rations and supplies for the trek to the mines, as well as the tools that were necessary, depending on how far they needed to go.

As they approached the entrance, Killian noticed some movement to the right of the cave opening. There, behind that rock the kobold. Do you see it? he asked the group. Duh also saw it, and rumbled forward. It was quickly determined that the kobold was more concerned with what was behind him that the large, lumbering half orc in front of him. The group suddenly found themselves confronted by a band of kobolds led by a very tough looking hobgoblin.
