FORGOTTEN LEGENDS - DUH the Barbarian
Duh's storied past is not what one would consider typical for a half-orc. Somehow, he inherited the human side on the intelligence spectrum. Duh shows a great ability to grasp such intellectual concepts as macroeconomics, mathematics, religion, sociology, and ancient religious legends. In fact, his nickname, "Duh" (his real name is Doug) comes from his replies to most people who look at him with utter stupidity for not being able to understand what he is saying. "Duh, don't you get it?" was his usual reply to those who just didn't get it.

After being rejected by his human family (he was the product of a rape by a band of nomadic orcs perpetrated against a young human female farmhand - he never met his father), Duh was classically trained in a monestary devoted to Kord. Being that Kord is the god of sport, fitness, and strength, Doug fit right in. A tragic accident forced the monestary leaders to banish Doug to the wilderness with the clothes on his back, a small hand-axe, and his only book - a volume of information nearly 1,500 pages long.

After a few years of travelling alone in the wilderness, he met up with a warband of orcs. Thinking that he may be able to take this opportunity to "educate" some of his own people, he attempted to use his knowledge of old legends to teach those of lower intelligence. His only response was a blank stare, to which he replies "Duh, don't you get it?" He was soon referred to strictly as "Duh", as his standard replies had morphed into his name.

Soon though, Duh was forced to leave once again. In a vain attempt to convince the orcs not to raid a nearby village to rape and plunder, he began to explain the macroeconomic impact of human sheep farmers on the local economy and the barter traffic within the ecological subsystem. After about 20 seconds of silence, the orcs let out a "hoot and holler" and ran off to the village. Not wanted to be a part of this brutal existence any longer, Duh ventured off once again.

Duh found the small village of Duvik's Pass, just south of the Kron Hills, an interesting stopping place. The people were nice, and were willing to accept despite his genetic makeup. But they had their own problems. Mayor Sanders just reminded him to "stay away from the children, you scare them."
