Luftflotte 2 reports five large british surface units with submarine
escort heading south east of
Hull.
In the area of middle and northern North-sea up to the Shetlands several
steamers (neutral).
No enemy units.
Two submarines heading for their positions were attacked by 2 british
subs (2 and 3
torpedoes) on the western edge of the Warn-area.
Hunt and search for submarines without success.
SKL request of O.K.W. to give permission:
a) to attack french Navy- and merchant navy ships.
b) for minelaying along the french coast.
c) to attack convoys north of Brest (also french)
Hitler allows to attack convoys north of Brest
but not against passenger ships even in convoys.
U31 and
U35 leave for the Atlantic.
