U29 (Schuhart) sinks the british motor-tanker „Regent Tiger“ (10176 BRT)

 

U34 (Rollmann) torpedoes the british tanker „Kennebec“ (5548t). The ship does not sink entirely and is destroyed by ships of the Royal Navy next day.

 

German steamer “New York” arrives in Murmansk.

 

Submarine positions in the Northern-sea:

1 boat east of Firth of Forth

1 boat at Horns Riff

1 boat at Utsire

New Submarines ordered into positions:

4 east of Scotland

1 Fair island – Shetland

 

M.Gruppe Ost: reports that german steamer “Helfried Bismarck” sunk in the Sund-barrier.

 

The dutch minelayers “Willem van den Zaan” (1270t) off den Helder and „Willem van Ewijk“ (460t) off Terschelling sink by british mines.

 

During the night british bombers drop leaflets over northern germany.
