Pegasus

Pegasus was born from Medusa, one of the gorgon sisters. His father was the sea god Poseidon.  Medusa was pregnant when Poseidon visited her in the form of a stallion.  The unfortunate way Pegasus was born was by Perseus decapitating Medusa because she couldn't give birth when she became the monster.  By the time Pegasus and his brother, Chrysaor was born, they were already fully grown.  A white stalllion with a silky mane and golden wings with breath that smelt of wild flowers.  That is Pegasus.  Also known as the inpiration for poetic people.  He was a lunar animal and had the ability to make a fountain oif water to gush out wherever he stamped his hoof.  Fountain, springs, of the wells, waters are the various interpretations of Pegasus's name.  Horses fountain or the horse well was also made by Pegasus for the muses at Hippocrene.
One hero who needed the help of Pegasus was Belleraphon who had recieved the quest to kill Chimera.  Belleraphon used a golden bridle given to him by Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war. He managed to put the bridle on Pegasus's head when he was drinking at Peirene.  The bridle made Pegasus tame and obedient?.  Because Pegasus was so much more agile compared to the monster, Belleraphon was able to kill the evil beast.  The elated hero felt that he should claim a place of the gods because of his success so he rode Pegasus to Olympia.  But soon to find out that Zeus was furious at him and he sent a gadfly to sting Pegasus.  Pegasus then reared, causing Belleraphon to fly off him, although he completed his flight to Olympus where Zeus now uses him to carry his thunderbolts.
Pegasus is told to carry dead Roman empires to the Land of the Dead and therefore, a pictures of him are found in many tombstones of Romans.  The combination of higher and lower natures and of striving to achieve the higher is the symbolism of the winged horse.

Unicorns

Unicorns were believed to have magical abilities which included the power to heal. A unicorn horn's touch was also believed to be able to pull people an inch from death back to the world, toward immortality.  If the horn of a unicorn is still attached, they can do many wonderous things.  The most well known is how a unicorn's horn can purify water for other animals.  This is known as "water conning."
Unfortunately, a unicorn horn's power can still be used even when seperated from its owner. Therefore, this led to unicorn destruction.  People started hunting unicorns for their wonderful powers.  The horn of a unicorn is called alicorn.  Of all the migical items in the world, alicorns remain as one of the strongest.  Popes and kings prized unicorn horns because it protected them.  When the alicorn is set on a table, if the food was poisoned, it will begin to form dew.  Alicorns were so powerful, even the most toxic substances were able to be cured by just the smallest amount of powder filed from the horn.
Unicorns are beautiful and mysterious, but they are also a sign of purity, beauty, and magical strength.  Just as other mythical and legendary creatures have been spotted all over the world, unicorns have been spotted all over the place.  They have been sighted in the following places: India, China, Middle East, and Europe.
