Biography
Brooklyn born rapper that gained attention when he worked on Mary J. Blige's What's the 411? He was a large imposing figure in rap. He grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant, New York. Influenced by the activities he saw around the neighborhood. He sold drugs and acted like the teenage neighborhood lookout. He started rapping under the name of Biggie Smalls, as part of a neighborhood group called Old Gold Brothers. When he delivered his first album Ready to Die in 1994, it became one of the hottest albims of the year. Spreading his love to, he ushered his long-termed friends Lil Cease, Lil Kim and formed the group Junior M.A.F.I.A. When he was in concert he always put on a great show. He had a unique way of delivering his rhymes and this in turn opened the doors for a wider culture.
On the morning of March 9, 1997, in Los Angeles, CA. Notorious was on his way back to his hotel after a party when a car pulled up alongside his Suburban and opened up four shots. The shots passed through the side that he was sitting on. This left him unconscious by the time he made it to the hospital. Tragically he died at the hospital.
