BIOGRAPHY
Born Jason Mizell in Hollis-Queens, New York. Jason grew up in a middle-class neighborhood. Run-DMC released their first single in 1983, It's Like That. The single got alot of attention from the local b-boys and soon became a national hit. Run-DMC released to more singles: Hard Times and Rock Box. Their video for Rock Box got air play on MTV in 1984. Their first album, Run-DMC, went gold in 1984. In 1986, Run-DMC starred in Krush Groove, a film that co-starred the Fat Boys, Kurtis Blow, LL Cool J, and the Beastie Boys. Despite negative publicity about the group, Run-DMC released Raising Hell in 1986. This album became the biggest selling rap album in history. Their second movie Tougher Than Leather was not as successful as the first.
