Process
Phase One:
The first part of your task is to create a character who may have lived in Ancient Greece.  Your group may choose to decide the gender, geographic region, and/or age of the person prior to researching the background, or may research beforehand.  This portion of the lesson will not only help you to create the background information of your character, but also serve as a basis for the journal entries you will later complete.  In your groups of 4 or 5, each member will research an aspect of Greek life.

--One person will be the Geographic Expert.  He/she will be in charge of researching the geography and environment of where the character will live.  This would include information on, for example, Athens or Sparta, what the land looks like, and the climate, etc.

--One person will become the Cultural Activites Expert.  He/she will be responsible for finding out what people did for entertainment in Ancient Greece.  For example, the Olympics, theater, etc.

--One person will serve as the Belief Systems Expert.  He/she will be in charge of the religous beliefs of the people, as well as Gender roles of the culture.

--One person will be the Economic Expert.  He/she will fulfill the duty of finding out what people did for money, as well as researching governmental duties and communication.

--If there is a fifth person in the group, he/she will assist the Economic Expert with his/her task.
