Introduction
Can you remember way back when you were small?  Do you remember the games of Let's Pretend that you used to play?  Maybe you pretended to be an astronaut, or a doctor, or a chef.  Was there ever a time when you pretended to be someone famous, someone from the past?  Maybe someone from history?  This WebQuest is going to give you a chance to relive those days of make-believe.  You get to play Let's Prentend once again, but this time, from an historical perspective.  In social studies, you learn about how people once lived, but you never really learn what it was like.  This lesson will give you a chance to explore that aspect.  We have been learning about the Ancient Greeks in this most recent chapter.  You will create a person who lived in Ancient Greece, examining every angle of their existence, and produce evidence supporting it.  This lesson may help you in the future, when learning about other peoples and cultures.

The Task
You task will be to use the Internet and the chapter to investigate life in Ancient Greece in cooperative learning groups that have already been assigned.  You will,  as a group, create a character who may have lived during this time.  You will then research various aspects of Greek life to create a background for this person.  Where did he/she live and/or work, etc?  You will use this information to help you in writing journal entries for a week in the life of this person.  Also, be prepared to give a graphic representation (drawing) of this person.

Begin
Each part of this lesson will be explained more in depth in the pages that follow.  Directions will be given to help you along the way.  Use the buttons at the bottom of each page to move to the next page, the previous page, or back to the beginning as needed.  Good luck on your quest!
