Q. Do you think you should be recommending changes to the Chinook?
A.  I don't recommend that anyone change his Chinook. These are changes that I have made to mine, and opinions and experiences are
mine only.  My Chinook has 450 hours on it and I only mention things that have proven that they worked for me. I have never flown an unmodified Chinook, so I cannot say that the changes I have made make it better or worse. These pages are presented only to explain what I changed, and the reason I changed it.They are offered in the hope you may find some useful ideas, maybe better and simpler ones than seen here..

Q:  What is the purpose of the motor mount on the verticle tube under the root tube?
A:  This is an extra LORD mount as used on a Challenger. I mounted it to the rear engine mounting plate to help prevent engine movement when reving up, or engine bounce on landing. It prevents tilting of the engine.
Main engine mounts are LORD mounts as used on a Quicksilver 2 place. A better picture of it is seen below:
